2015 is coming to a close. We only have a few hours left until we ring in another year! Are you happy with what you were able to accomplish this year? What would you like the coming year to be like?
I’ll be going into the New Year single, just like you probably are if you’re reading this. I ended my relationship with my boyfriend last fall and I’ve been immersed in my business launch since then, so it hasn’t been a stellar dating year for me. I’m not talking down to you from an ivory tower.
Like you, I had hopes for 2015 that didn’t turn out the way I would have liked. Luckily, it’s possible to have a fresh start. I intend to make the most of mine and I hope you’ll do the same.
In the coming year, I’d like to encourage you to practice gratitude, get back to the basics, and focus on what’s most important to you.
Practicing gratitude makes you feel better and opens your heart.
If you’re reading this right now, you have much to be grateful for, internet access, the device you’re using to read this, electricity, food, shelter and clothing just for starters. I’m sure you can come up with more. Find ten things to be grateful for every day for the next ten days and you’ll automatically be happier.
Get back to the basics. We all love add-ons, but sometimes they can be overwhelming. Try streamlining your life. Figure out what’s important to you and do that. Let the rest go.
Do you need to check your phone constantly? How often do you wear the shoes or clothes that are cluttering your closet? Can you donate some of them? What can you do to simplify your life today and make room for what matters?
Finally, from this place of gratitude and simplicity, begin to focus on what’s most important to you.
If you want to find love in the coming New Year, make it a priority and devote some time to your search.
Put up an online profile and log in every day, even if only for a few minutes.
I’ll be right there with you, walking my talk. I’ll be carving out some time for love in my own schedule in the coming weeks and I hope you will join me.
