Are You Involved With a Pinger?

Are you familiar with the term “Pinger”?

If the man you’re seeing not only texts, but calls you and takes you out on real dates, that’s fantastic! It shows that he’s interested in getting to know you.

But if there’s been no actual in-person contact, just a few texts here and there, you may have a Pinger in your life.

Well, not really in your life, but taking up way too much space in your head.

A Pinger will send you a text once in a while to flirt and keep your interest, but there’s never any real progression in the relationship. He’ll always have some reason he’s not able to meet you. And that’s where it ends.

Except that it doesn’t really end because he’ll keep pinging you, usually when you’re just on the verge of giving up on him and actually going out and trying to find someone to have a real relationship with. Pingers can be annoying that way.

These guys just want an ego boost. Even if they actually end up seeing you in person once in a while, the relationship never progresses. They’re not your future boyfriend, much less future husband.

They like the idea that they can text you at their convenience knowing that you’re still an option for them when or if they’re ready to spend some time with you.

Don’t be flattered if he texts you on short notice asking to get together. He’s likely hoping you’re available because his original plans fell through.

If you’re not careful, a Pinger can keep you interested for months, or even years.

So be smart with your time and your heart! It’s up to you to make sure you’re treated with respect, so have high standards for the men you choose to have in your life. You’d do well to care more about how he treats you than how impressive his job title or his wardrobe is.

If you’re involved with a Pinger and you’re looking for the real deal, end that so-called relationship ASAP!
